They were two lovely
guys. Far more intelligent than Reg and Ron. Eddie had never done a day
in prison by the time of the Torture Trial, never.
Charlie had only done six months. He had five scrap yards and a mine in
South Africa. We had Atlantic Machines. Eddie had his own chemist business.
Both could have a fight, smashing fellas. Charlie got twenty five years,
to me the biggest liberty of all time. Today he wouldn't have even been
arrested. It wouldn't have got to court.
